United States (Amtrak)
- Amtrak's Home
Page is the official source of Amtrak information about
train travel in the United States on Amtrak, including a description of
routes, travel hints, vacation packages, and reservations. Amtrak
also has several separate divisions, each with their own Web sites, including
Amtrak West,
Amtrak Intercity,
Coast Starlight,
Amtrak California,
Keystone Service,
and
Carolinian/Piedmont.
- Amtrak Schedules is an unofficial source of
Amtrak schedules organized by region and train. It is an all
volunteer project coordinated by Matthew Mitchell and the
Delaware Valley Association of Railroad Passengers.
- Friends of Amtrak is an Internet advocacy effort
supporting continued funding for Amtrak by providing information on
legislation and Amtrak operations. This site features Amtrak news,
legislation updates, information on how Representatives and Senators
have voted, trip reports, and other Amtrak-related information.
Canada (VIA Rail)
- VIA Rail
Canada is the official source of information about train
travel in Canada. Available information includes maps, schedules,
fares, reservations, and news releases.
Europe
- BritRail is the official source of information
on BritRail, which is the passenger carrier in Great Britain.
Available information includes maps, reservations, passes and tickets,
and travel beyond Great Britain.
- Europe Your Way is tour provider that
specializes in escorted Eurail tours. This site provides descriptions
of the tours they offer.
- Eurostar Internet is the official source of
information on Eurostar, which provides service through the "Chunnel"
(Channel Tunnel). This site provides information for passengers
planning travel through the channel tunnel, including timetables,
fares, offers, and other news and information for the European
traveller. Eurostar is a service provided together by the railways of
Belgium, Britain, and France.
- The European Railway Server.
This server is primarily intended to give information on the European
Railways, both for the railway fan and for the tourist who wants to
explore Europe by train.
- TGV High Speed Rail provides information on
the Train à Grande Vitesse, the French high speed train
network.
- Transrapid Hamburg-Rotterdam is a Website with
information on the proposed construction of a magnetic suspension
track (Maglev) between Hamburg and Amsterdam/Rotterdam. The project is
under study by the Dutch government and the national railway company.
- UK Railways
on the Net is a Web service providing information on
the UK Railway Industry, including freight, passenger, and
suppliers.
