Note in <London Guardian>: Reese Witherspoon is in negotiations to star in the film
Freedom Writers. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the project will be based on a real
life collection of diary entries from "at risk" students at a high school in California.
The book, called The Freedom Writers Diary: How a Group of Extraordinary Teens Used
Writing to Change Themselves and the World Around Them was published in 1999.
