This course will focus on contemporary electronic diaries. Participants will explore the burgeoning world of the online diary, first by exploring specific online diaries like "The Emily Project" and then by studying specific diaries kept by individuals on such online clearinghouse web sites as the following: "The Diary Registry," "The Diary Project," and "The Online Diary History Project." To succeed in this course, each participant must already be familiar with the World Wide Web and have access to a computer on which she/he can keep an online diary during the course. Course work will take place in settings where WWW access is available. This course will meet only during the second half of fall semester 2002.
