Here are some of my current projects and
interests.

personal essays, etc. My recent article, "Illegitimacy and Intercultural
Lifewriting," published in a/b: Auto/biography Studies, is
here. Click on "Bibliography: Women's Autobiography" at left to read
my recent bibliography on autobiography by American women. Click on the icon
"Whose Diary?" at left to read an essay entitled "Whose Diary is It, Anyway?"
To learn more about two recent projects focusing on adolescent diaries, click on
"Adolescent Diaries."
|
| Interest 2 Research on the history of Luxembourg and Germany and on
immigration from these countries to the United States. Special emphasis is placed on
the culture of Luxembourg and its reflections in American-Luxembourgish settlements (e.g.,
St. Donatus, and Gilbertville, IA; Rollingstone, MN; Remsen, Alton, Granville, IA)
Click on "Home," and then on "Luxembourg" to read my essay,
"Reflections of Luxembourg in the Rural Midwestern United States," based on a
paper I presented at the Newberry Library's seminar on rural history in May 1998.
|
| Interest 3 Research on the mythology, hagiography, and contemporary
views of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with special emphasis on apparitions at such places as
Rue du Bac in Paris; Banneux and Beauraing, Belgium; Marpingen, Germany;
etc. Click on the icon "Virgin Mary" at left to go to the page that
deals with past and present discussions of possible Marian apparitions at Marpingen,
