| "Of the Month" Awards |
| |
| Welcome to MSU, Mankato NRHH's Of The Month Award page!
This page will provide a general overview of the various types of OTMs
and who can submit them. So keep reading, and help us recognize some
deserving students. The categories for nomination are Program, Student,
Advisor, Executive Board Member, NCC, NRHH Chapter, Community Advisor,
and Spotlight. If you would like to nominate someone forms are available
at each complex front desk. |
| |
Program Of The Month
The Program OTM is designed to recognize those programs presented on
campus that promote community service, the education of campus
residents, diversity, and social interaction. The program should have a
definite set of goals, have a positive and lasting effect, and should be
adaptable for use on other campuses. Examples of eligible programs
include programs presented by resident advisors, individual students,
campus organizations, etc. The Program OTM award is divided into four
sub-categories: Community Service, Educational, Diversity, and Social. A
campus is allowed to submit one program in each of the four
sub-categories to the Regional Associate Director of NRHH for judging on
a regional level. |
| |
Student Of The Month
This OTM award is designed to recognize those students who have made
outstanding contributions on and around their campus during the month of
nomination. The student in question may have made contributions to their
campus, hall, house/floor, and/or may have participated in some other
outside activities. Community Advisors, National Communication
Coordinators, advisors, and campus wide residence hall government
executive board members are not eligible for this award. However,
Complex Council and House Government executive board members are
eligible for this award. |
| |
Advisor Of The Month
The Advisor Of The Month is an individual who has made outstanding
contributions in the area of recognition, motivation, and support for an
individual or an organization. Anyone holding an advisory position
within an organization is eligible for this award. |
| |
Executive Board Member Of The Month
This award is designed to recognize those members of the executive
boards of campus wide organizations who have made some sort of
outstanding contribution to their organization or campus community. The
members of the executive boards of residence hall associations (such as
the Residence Hall Association), National Residence Hall Honorary
chapters, and other campus wide governing bodies are eligible for this
award. |
| |
National Communications Coordinator Of The Month
The NCC Of The Month is an individual who has made outstanding use of
NACURH services, has excelled in regional communication and delegation
preparation, or has made other outstanding contributions to their campus
or their residence hall association. Any NCC is eligible for this award. |
| |
NRHH Chapter Of The Month
This award recognizes those chapters of the National Residence Hall
Honorary who have gone above and beyond the call of duty in addressing
issues such as student leadership development, regional involvement, and
recognition. In addition, other significant contributions to their host
campuses will make chapters eligible for this award. |
| |
Community Advisor Of The Month
The CA OTM recognizes those CAs who have made outstanding
contributions to campus and residence hall activities, excelled in
programming, interacted with residents, etc. Most CAs perform all of the
preceeding functions faithfully and well, but some CAs go far above and
beyond what is required of them in order to make their residence hall a
better place to live. This award is designed to recognize and honor
their efforts. |
| |
Spotlight Of The Month
This final type of OTM is designed to recognize those for whom the
existing Of the Month categories do not apply. For example, one could
nominate an Assistant Complex Director of the Month using this category.
Advisors, Students, and all others should be nominated on the
appropriate forms. |
| |
| Those are the OTMs that all college students are
eligible for. Those eligible to nominate students include: Complex
Directors, Assistant Complex Directors, Community Advisors, NRHH
members, Residence Hall Association (RHA) members, and house or complex
council officers. If you are unsure as to whether or not your position
entitles you to nominate individuals for OTM awards, please contact our
Awards Chair, David Schlosser.
If you wish to submit an OTM, it must be submitted by the tenth day of
the month following the month of nomination (i.e. September nominees
must be submitted by October tenth).
