HSA General Meeting

o       Winter Break

o       Next fall semester events planned: Lacross, Culture day, HCSM, HND, (International Hmong Conference – new and Heritage Day?)

o       Volleyball tournament: Draw names randomly; ways to meet others and

              learn to play in team sports.    

§         PRIZE: Pizza Party  (needs a date for tournament)

o       Board elections:  March 4^th nominate & 25th elections.

• So they have a month to shadow the older officers.
• Should be put in to constitution for every single date for election.

o       HND: April 11^th – 15^th ***Most important event.

• Go on Wednesday morning
• Five people are already sign and have their $50 deposit in.  
• Seven spots left
• DEADLINE FOR HND ; February 11^th 2007
• HOTEL reservation by: March 1^st 2007

o       CAMPING TRIP: April 21^st and the 22^nd---Xiong will look at the place to go camping.

o       Highway cleanup:     April 7^th – Saturday

o        Picnic – April 28^th 2007 – location will be later. (But this might change to a banquet instead to recognize the parents and members)

 

o       Thailand project:  talk to the group and get a plan out projects and get it started and go this summer.

• White water refugee camp site should be better/other villages
• Go during winter break
• Help Hmong students read and teach English
• Visit University in Thailand

• Rules of how to be able to get there and teach

• St Cloud: Friday 16^th of February – Multi-cultural issues conference – DEADLINE: Feb. 2^nd, 2007.

• VASA New Year: February 10^th 2007   Time: 6-7pm

• HMONG GBLT: New Year at Foodsmart at Feb. 17^th at 5pm. (Shades of Yellow)
• Support group for Cha Vang Case – Yes? / No?
• EGO – Pangkou wants to know if anyone would like to  – Hmong Dance/sing at the program.
• Teaching Hmong Language at MNSU during the summer semester?
