A one-week cultural and geographical study tour focusing on the history, natural environments, ethnic groups, and development of the contemporary Puerto Rican society. Topics will include the examination of the region’s physical geography, and the study of race relations and social classes. In addition, an assessment of the islands’ economic geography is part of the lectures.
Tour Package Cost: $1,136.15 per student (includes airfare, hotel, ground transportation, and breakfasts). Dinners and lunch are not included in the tour fee. The tour package price excludes health and travel insurance charges, course credits, and MSU student fees.
Meal prices in Puerto Rico are low compared to other Caribbean destinations. Puerto Rico offers some of the finest white sandy beaches in the Caribbean and excellent opportunities to study tropical environments and cultural geography.

Puerto Rico is a progressive nation with a rich cultural mix.
Participants of these courses will stay in San Juan. This Latin American city is well-known for its incomparable Spanish colonial architecture. Puerto Rico is home of one of the Caribbean’s most important UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the legendary Old San Juan National Historic District.
