G.P. Baker and P.M.S. Hacker, Wittgenstein: Rules, Grammar and Necessity, (Oxford: Blackwell Publishers Ltd., 1985).

The second volume in a line by line analysis of Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigations. The volumes also include analytical commentary as well. This book takes us from PI §185 to §242, the passage just before the "private language argument" is customarily thought to begin. Although the volume does not discuss Kripke's book explicitly it is still important for providing Baker and Hacker's account of some of the key passages of Wittgenstein's rule following considerations.
