This painting is called "Builders #1" and it is the work of the famous American painter, Jacob Lawrence. Given the great assortment of tools on the builder's shelf, I've long thought that this painting would make a perfect cover for a book on the later Wittgenstein's philosophy. After all, language is, according to the later Wittgenstein, not just a tool but rather a wide assortment thereof.
The work below, in both a large and small version, is a collage by Eduardo Paolozzi entitled, Wittgenstein at the Cinema admires Betty Grable.
