Work through exercises 11-13, which analyzes the economic impacts of a mixed development.
- Suppose housing costs increase to $175,000 for single-family and $110,000 for condominiums
- Suppose, further, that retail sales per square foot increase to $330/s.f. for restaurant and hairstylist, and $315/s.f. for convenience stores.
- For the industrial park, suppose that professional services now need only 200 s.f. per job
Compare the results of this analysis to the one provided in the worksheet. What conclusions do you draw about the sensitivity of this type of economic impact analysis (how much are the results affected by small changes in the inputs)?
