Techniques
1. Review the “data collection checklist” in Appendix A of Driskell’s book, and the indicators used by the Children’s Defense Fund. Develop a list of indicators that would be useful for monitoring the health of a community for children.
2. Recall the research prospectus you developed in Activity 1. Reconsider the methods/techniques you proposed for gathering information. In light of the discussion on Techniques for Studying Children (this unit),
· which techniques/tools are most suited to the subject group you are considering?
· from among the list of possible tools, which will you use in your research design (Why? What further training/information will you need to use the chosen tool(s) effectively?)
