NPL 273  Introduction to Nonprofit Leadership

List of Potential Mentors

You are free to choose any nonprofit corporation for your service learning project.  However, some of you may not have one in mind, or may not know how to contact a mentor for the kind of organization you wish to understudy.  What follows is a list of possible mentors, arranged by type of organization.  These people are all available by e-mail and are willing to work with one of you.  So we don’t overtax the resources of anyone, please check with me first before you contact anyone on this list.

I would prefer that you work with an organization in your community, so you can give back to the organization for the time you will be taking from one of their staff people.  Most of the people on this list are from the Mankato area; if you live somewhere else, I will try to help you locate someone in your own community if you are coming up with nothing.  Also, if you have a very strong case for choosing someone who is not from your region (for example, several on this list work for NGOs in Africa; I presume you would not be available to attend their Board meetings) we might be able to negotiate something.
