To promote civic engagement, community involvement, and activism in the Southeast Asian community, especially among youths, that will create a better understanding of politics and critical thinking in the minds of the community.

The organization will serve particularly Southeast Asian youths and the community, but extends to other ethnic communities as well.

The organization will be govern by influential community leaders with applicable networks, and staffed by individuals who care about the leadership development of youths and the promotion of youth in politics.

The resources in which this NPO need are a large center in which youths and staffs can utilize to brainstorm potential projects and events; hold weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings; and a safe haven for youths.  In addition to the large center, the organization would need necessary office supplies and community materials.

Applying for grants and soliciting donations will obtain the resources needed for the organization to run initially and long-term.

After-Hours Class (Richard Johnson)

After-Hours Class exists to ensure that every kid has a safe environment to go to after school is out.  When attending an After-Hours Class, depending on what subject is in need of being studied, the student will meet with his/her trained mentor and receive extra lessons in that field of study.  In the future, I hope many different communities adopt a program similar to this once they see the success it produces.

For now, this is going to serve for elementary grade students ranging from kintergarden-6th grade.  For each of the different courses that need to be studied, there will be a hired professional to teach the students.  Each of these professionals, however, can only teach a maximum of 10 kids at a time, ensuring that each student gets the help they need. The students will need to sign up for this through their school so we know for sure how many students will be attending and for what course of study.
