1st paragraph should
contain a topic sentence that expresses a controlling idea and provides an
organizational focus. It aids the writer
in sticking to the subject and signals the reader what will follow. It tries to capture the reader’s
attention.
2nd and following
paragraphs provide primary support for the topic sentence. Each paragraph is supported by details that
explain and clarify the controlling ideas.
Closing paragraph should not
contain any new ideas and mainly summarizes your overall thoughts and gives conclusions.
