COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE LEARNING EVALUATION SHEET

· Does the paper address the question?

· Is there an introductory paragraph that states what the paper will cover?

· Is the paper well organized and developed?

· Is there a summary paragraph that brings the paper together?

· Is the paper clear/easy to read?

· Are there examples of critical thinking?

· Are there appropriate quotes/references?

· Are personal opinions supported by “experts” or evidence?

· Is there a bibliography, and is it appropriate?

· Is the grammar of high quality?

· Is the paper free of typos & spelling errors?

· Is the length appropriate?

1^st paragraph should contain a topic sentence that expresses a controlling idea and provides an organizational focus. It aids the writer in sticking to the subject and signals the reader what will follow. It tries to capture the reader’s attention.

2^nd and following paragraphs provide primary support for the topic sentence. Each paragraph is supported by details that explain and clarify the controlling ideas.

Closing paragraph should not contain any new ideas and mainly summarizes your overall thoughts and gives conclusions.
