The Political Awareness group has a measage for the Mankato community: Hey, this affects YOU! Our group's mission is to spread awareness of political issues by trying to emphasize the importance that these issues have to everyone. The group has engaged in organized and thoughful discussion of the serious political and moral issues of the day and want to encourage others to do the same. The citizen's engagement in these difficult issues of our time is the only way to foster a healthy democracy. We have generated many ideas on how to best accomplish this, including conducting issue-oriented surveys, working on upcomming election campaigns, designing a student-friendly current events website, and hosting a free-speech event with the organization Stand-Up Speak-Out. We certainly have our work cut out for us in the upcomming months!
