Our group focused on issues within the school.  Early in the year, we looked at the school referendum and discussed its importance.  We were very pleased that it passed.  We used the Internet to look at other school’s policies to the policies at Dakota Meadows.  Most schools had similar policies, but we realized Dakota Meadows didn’t have the school handbook online so we met with the principal and she agreed the handbook should be available online.  We started on another project before we had a chance to finish by getting the handbook online and didn’t get time in the end to come back to it. This would be a good project for a future team to finish for us.  We finished the year by conducting a survey about school policies and we distributed to nearly all of the 7th graders at Dakota Meadows.  We tabulated the results and wrote a letter with our findings to the new principal that will start at Dakota Meadows in the fall.  We gave the letter to Ms. Schuck and she assured us it would get to the new principal.
