Friday

March 7

 

TWIN CITIES Departure.  Meet (1:00 p.m.) your Seminars International representative at the Northwest Airlines group check-in counter, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Lindbergh Terminal T-level for departure (3:10 p.m.) on Northwest Airlines flight NW #42 for Amsterdam; non-stop Airbus 333 service with meals served en route (check baggage through to Rome).

 

Saturday

March 8

 

ROME Arrival. Upon arrival (06.30) at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, proceed to connecting departure (10.10) on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight KL #1601 for Rome; non-stop Boeing 737 service with a snack served en route. Arrive (12.25) at Rome Leonardo Da Vinci Airport and transfer by private motorcoach, with assistance, to the GRAND HOTEL PALATINO for check-in. Rest of the day at leisure.

 

Sunday

March 9

 

ROME.   Morning (09.00) departure from the hotel for a full-day guided walking tour of the city, including the Colosseum, the Forum, Circus Maximus, the Pantheon and the Porta Maggiore aquaduct.  (B)

Monday

March 10

 

ROME.  Morning (09.00) departure by private motorcoach for half-day guided tour of the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and the Basilica of St. Peter.   (B)

Tuesday

March 11

 

ROME.  Program arrangements by course instructors. (B)

Wednesday

March 12

 

ROME.  Free day for independent exploration. Group dinner at the hotel.   (B,D)

Thursday

March 13

 

ROME/SORRENTO.  Morning (08.15) transfer by private motorcoach to Rome Termini Station for departure (09.25) on train #9605 to Naples. Arrive (10.52) at Naples Centrale Station, meet guide and motorcoach to tour the National Archeological Museum. Continue to Sorrento for check-in at the MICHELANGELO HOTEL.   (B)

 

Friday

March 14

 

SORRENTO.   Morning (09.00) departure by private motorcoach for full-day guided excursion to Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius.  (B)

Saturday

March 15

SORRENTO.  Free day, optional excursion to Capri (on own). Farewell dinner at a local restaurant.    (B,D)

Sunday

March 16

 

SORRENTO/TWIN CITIES. Early morning (__) transfer by private motorcoach to Rome Leonardo Da Vinci Airport for departure (10.20) on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines flight KL #1593 for Amsterdam; non-stop Boeing 737 service, with a snack served en route (check baggage through to the Twin Cities). Upon arrival (13.00) at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, proceed to connecting departure (15.35) on Northwest Airlines flight NW #55 for Minneapolis; non-stop Airbus 333 service with meals served en route. Arrive (6:35 p.m.) at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, Lindbergh Terminal for customs clearance.  (Boxed breakfast )

·       The 24-hour clock is used for travel outside of the United States.  All times above 12.00 are in the afternoon or evening (simply subtract 12 hours from the time indicated, e.g., 12.00 is noon, 20.00 is 8:00 p.m.).

·       Participants are responsible for carrying their own luggage to and from the airport, train, motorcoach and hotel.

·       Participants are advised to carry overnight bags as a safeguard against any flight or baggage claim delays.
