The Owatonna Diving Club each year on New Years day gathers below the Dam at Morehouse Park in Owatonna, Minnesota to scuba dive the Chilly waters of the Straight River. After Cutting the 6 inch thick ice into large blocks we floated them down stream sliding them under each other to clear the area around the face of the dam.

Unfortunately there was only one person that tried to dive because Cold air temperatures that froze up regulators and dry suit dump valves. 

 

 

 At five o-clock that evening the group of about 30 divers, family and friends gathered at the Nicks Pizza's for great conversation and Buffet.

Dive Club Location: 137 1/2 East Front street Owatonna, MN
Club Meetings are every second Tuesday of the month @ 8 pm and tank fill is every Thursday night @ 7:30 pm
