Open Swim- Wednesday the 21st of November, The club is having there open swim at the pool. Come on down and bring your dive equipment. This is a good time to test out your dive equipment before going down south for a trip and to practice underwater skills. Wednesday December 26th, the pool will be closed for Christmas break, so mark your calendar.
Fall North Shore Dive- The club made there annual trip to the north shore this fall. The weather started out rainy as we where driving up to Duluth and then was partly cloudy the rest of the weekend. This year we stayed at the Youngberg camp ground. The accommodations were great. They are planning on expanding the camp ground this coming year to accommodate more campers. The diving wasn’t the greatest this year. There was a North-east storm on Thursday before the weekend and had stirred up the lake. The visibility was only about 5 to 8 feet. We started out diving on the Hesper and then stopped for lunch. After lunch, the lake had calmed down enough for the run down to the Madeira. On the way back from the Madeira, the club removed the buoy from the Hesper. Thanks go out to all for helping out, and Brent Youngberg and family for accommodating the dive club and providing lunch on Saturday.
Milwaukee trip- This year, some of the club members decided to check out Lake Michigan in the fall, so they planned a trip in September. The weather started out looking like it was going to be rough for the weekend, but it changed and was perfect. The lake was calm; the temperature was warm, and the water visibility was great. One wreck, we had over 100 foot of visibility. We explored several different shipwrecks and did more research at the library on wrecks. We also obtained a blue print on one of the wrecks that we dive on. Everyone on the trip thought it was great time and would like to do it again for next year.
