Miwaukee Trip- This trip is always an interesting on.  This year there was 5 of us that went.  The weekend started out great.  The weather was nice and the lake was flat.  When we got there, we decided to make a dive that day.  We went out to the Dredge and made a dive on it.  This time we took flash light so we could see up underneath of it.  We where surprised to see that there were a lot more to the wreck then we thought.  There was a lot of machinery still underneath and the depth of the barge that you could go into.   It was a great dive.  The next day we went down to the wreck Wisconsin.  It is a lot like the America, but longer in length.  It was a deeper dive, so didn’t have much time on it.  It is in good shape except that the top deck has collapsed.

From there we went back to Milwaukee to dive the Prince William.  When we got to the landing, the wave had picked up, so we didn’t make the dive.  The next day it looks like it was going to be a nice day until we got to the landing, the wind had picked up and it was rough on the lake.  We decided to try it and headed out onto the lake.  Once we got pasted the break wall, it was rough and we change our mind and headed back in.  When we got to the dock, a local resident had seen us and asked if we would retrieve his chain for his sail boat, so we made a dive that day for a chain.  From there the weekend had come to a close and we headed back home.

Club Banquet- This year, the banquet was a good turn out.  There was a lot of food (some one tried to sneak off with the pan of caramel rice crispy bars, but was caught), and the door prizes where great success (Thanks go to Tom Stephan for getting most of them and Todd Rost for donating dive equipment to the banquet).  We had two raffles this year, a tank and a set of fins.  The tank raffle went to a die hard diver Diane Matejcek and the fin raffle went to Caleb Matejcek.  After the meal and the raffle was done, awards where announced.  Delbert Kepka and Caleb Matejcek won the First year diver award and Jim Zabel won the Sea Horse and Diver of the year award.  After that, John Chapman did a short presentation on local diving with the club and the top 10 squirrel sightings in the past year at club functions.  The squirrel video and leg wrestling video where a huge success to the presentation.  Finally, Dennie Huisenga did the final presentation on God’s pocket up in Canada.   It was an excellent presentation with a lot of out standing pictures that he took.  A lot of the pictures where so neat that you could not tell that they where taken under water.  Thanks go to Dennie for the outstanding presentation.
