Virtual Libraries
Virtual libraries provide good starting places for
research topics. - Argus
ClearinghouseThe Clearinghouse is divided into categories, which include
Government and Law, and Social Science and Social Issues - these categories
are broken down further. This site can be searched in general or by
category. The search works well with broad categories, but not so well with
specific issues. Each item found is rated and includes its searchable terms -
this may help individuals be more successful in later searches. With a
little work this site can be used to find some very useful political science
sites.
- Britannica Internet
GuideThis is a great site for finding links and current news. On the
main page there is a list of categories. When you choose a category it gives
you the option of the web's best, this is the place to start finding links.

- Librarian's Index to
the InternetThis site has a lot of general information in all areas. It
is searchable but works best for only general searches. The categories
include government, politics, and many others. It is possible to find very
useful links from this site.
- WWW Virtual
LibraryPoor search engine. The Political Science category does have a
huge list of links to associations, University Libraries and University
Political Science Departments. Site can lead to useful and interesting
information, but it is not the best place to start.
-
Thomas Online This site is maintained
by the US Library of Congress. It provides access to various legislative
information, including committee reports, the Congressional Record, and
bill texts.
