Mathematica is installed on the Windows PC computers in ACC 116. These computers have already been formatted to have Netscape Communicator recognize Mathematica as an helper application. You should not need to perform the following formatting on these computers.

If your computer's browser does not recognize Mathematica, you will need to format it once. Afterwards it will recognize Mathematica in all future applications. For example, on a Macintosh in Netscape Navigator select General Preferences under the Options menu. We want to establish the following entry.

To do so click the New button and enter the following data. You will need to use the "Browse" in the "Handled By" section to locate Mathematica.

Now click the OK buttons to close these two windows.

When you try to download a Mathematica program for the first time, you may see the following window.

Click on the Pick app button and you will get the following window.

From the pull-down menu at the top of this window you need to open the version of Mathematica found in the Software Disk - Communications Folder - Mathematica Folder as shown in the following windows.

This will tell Netscape Navigator where to find Mathematica for all future downloads.

Now click the Back button to return to the previous web page for the Mathematica program.
