Intermediate Algebra by Martin-Gay, fourth edition.
Course Content
This course prepares students who need more practice in algebra for further study in college algebra, elementary statistics, and a liberal arts approach to perspectives in mathematics. We will examine topics in chapters one through eight.

9:00 am - 12:50 pm, Saturday, Wissink Hall 288A.
No class on Nov. 27th.

Tests
Tests will be given during the second hour every Saturday.
Final exam
Saturday, Dec. 18th, 9 - 11 am.
Grading Policy
Each test will be graded on a scale of ten points per problem. All of the homework and in-class assignments collected will likewise be graded on a scale of ten points per problem. At the end of the semester all of the scores will be totaled and computed as a percentage of the total number of points possible. If a student's percent grade is at least 70%, the student will be exempt from the final examination and will receive a grade of pass (P) for the course. If this percent grade is below 70%, the student must take the final examination and earn a grade of at least 70% on it to receive a grade of pass (P) for the course. Grading will reflect the mathematical correctness of the answer and the quality of the presentation in terms of completeness and organization. Late assignments will be penalized. Make-up tests will be given only in special cases, when an excused absence has been prearranged. Incompletes will follow the university's policy as expressed in the student bulletins and the faculty handbook. No incomplete will be given to repeat the entire course.
